A warm welcome to all the students and parents to the Year 2022. The start of the year has not been so great, however, I am being positive and hope that a lot of learning will take place in Room 5 this year.

If you are not able to attend school for any reason and would like to communicate with me for anything, please use the following e-mail address.

“Teachers open the doors, but you must enter yourself.”

We were so fortunate to take part in the ‘Drowning Prevention Programme’ at school this term. Now we all know how to keep safe in and around water, how to come out of the rip if we get caught, and how to ask for help if need be!

Welcome to the last Term (4) of 2021!

Online learning is going very well as far as room 5 is concerned. Students have become savvy and are very confident in using different learning platforms, websites, and apps.

Please do keep in touch and don’t hesitate to contact me via e-mail or text if you have any concerns or questions. Take care and look after yourselves and the people around you.

Many thanks

Mrs. Sona

Hope you all are well and keeping safe! It’s that time again when we are juggling between different roles and hats we need to wear during the day. We all are wearing a hat of a teacher, a parent, and a spouse! What a challenge!

Fortunately, I have been able to connect with almost every one of you. If you still haven’t heard from me, please contact me via e-mail: schawla@hns.school.nz, and I will be in touch with you ASAP.

As far as online learning is concerned,  I am using two different platforms ie. Seesaw and Google classroom.

I am so fortunate to have such a lovely bunch of students who have been good learners in the actual classroom as well as a virtual classroom. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s learning.

Hope to see my students at school sooner than later!

Till then take care

Mrs Sona
