Chess

Our 2019 competitors!  Unfortunately we didn’t win the tournament but everyone had a great day.

Today, 25 May, we are hosting a Chess Tournament!  We have several schools visiting and competing through out today.

Are you interested in playing Chess?

Chess promotes learning in many areas, and has a positive impact on children’s achievement.  We are very fortunate to have the support of Leonard McLaren, who is a highly qualified New Zealand Tutor and is a New Zealand Chess Master, who will extend the children’s skills and enjoyment of the game.

With enough interest we will run 6 weeks of Chess this term on a Wednesday afternoon.  These lessons must be paid for it you are interested in joining.  The cost is $2.50 per lesson or $15 for 6 weeks.  Permission slips are in the school office.
